I’ve been fretting about the mileage goal progress this year. I opted out of the Surfer’s Path Marathon earlier this year because I just didn’t have enough time (or energy!) to train up for it. There were also at least a couple of weeks where I dipped below the 20miles/week mark which meant that I had to make up for lost miles. I figured it was time to assess the progress so far and I’m surprised — but happy! — that, with only 22 weeks left in this year and 594 miles under my belt, I’m on target to reach my goal if I can continue to sustain my current schedule.
This is good news. But, I am also aware that shorter days and more treadmill running (which I dread) are on the horizon…plus cold and flu season, etc. I really only have to run 18.5 miles a week to hit the 1000 mark, but I’d be a fool to be complacent, as it is with so many things in life….
